Terms of use

These terms explain the limits of the DIY Credit self-help tools and the customer’s responsibility for every dispute they choose to prepare and mail.

Educational self-help service

DIY Credit provides educational organization tools and customer-directed letter templates. It is not a law firm, lender, credit bureau, financial advisor, or substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Customer control and responsibility

You decide which information to question, provide the factual explanation, review every statement, add supporting documents, sign the letter, and choose whether and where to mail it. DIY Credit does not submit disputes or communicate with credit bureaus or furnishers on your behalf.

You agree not to use DIY Credit to dispute information you know is accurate, make a false identity-theft claim, impersonate another person, or submit misleading documents.

No guaranteed result

DIY Credit does not guarantee deletion of an account, an increase in a credit score, approval for credit, or any particular investigation result. Accurate and current negative information generally cannot be removed merely because it is negative.

Free DIY Credit tools

DIY Credit does not charge customers for the workspace or letter builder. A separate SmartCredit membership may have its own recurring price, optional purchases, terms, billing, and cancellation requirements. Those charges are between the customer and SmartCredit.

Third-party services

Third-party products and links are governed by their own terms. Availability, report content, scores, pricing, and API access may change. DIY Credit is not responsible for a third party’s service or decisions.

Current service limitations

Secure account creation, sign-in, and account-scoped workspace storage are enabled. Customers may locally parse a saved SmartCredit HTML report or enter report items manually. Parser results are review candidates, not findings that an item is inaccurate, and no item is automatically selected for dispute. A live SmartCredit connection is not yet enabled. Customers can download or delete their saved workspace from Letter Details.

Review before production launch

These plain-language terms are an operational draft and will be reviewed and expanded for applicable federal and state requirements before live provider imports and the full production service are launched.
