Clear, upfront information
Service disclosures
DIY Credit is free to customers. This page explains the separate SmartCredit membership and the limits of the DIY Credit service.
SmartCredit membership
SmartCredit is a separate service with its own membership price, recurring billing, optional purchases, terms, privacy policy, and cancellation process. Customers should review those terms before enrolling.
No payment to DIY Credit
DIY Credit does not request a card, sell letter packages, or charge customers for preparing or printing letters. Customers pay their own printing, postage, monitoring, and third-party service costs.
No promise to remove accurate information
Negative information is not necessarily inaccurate. DIY Credit is designed to help a customer describe a specific error or incomplete item—not to mass-dispute every negative account. No result or score increase is promised.
Customer sends every letter
DIY Credit prepares a draft for the customer to review. The customer chooses whether to print, sign, attach records, and mail it. Nothing is automatically submitted to a bureau, furnisher, regulator, or complaint portal.
Free official resources
Consumers can obtain credit reports and dispute errors without hiring or paying a third party. Visit AnnualCreditReport.com, the federally authorized source for free credit reports, and review the CFPB’s dispute guidance.
