What information should I dispute?

Only information you genuinely believe is inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, or not yours. Accurate negative information generally cannot be removed simply because it is negative.

Why do I need SmartCredit?+

SmartCredit provides the 3-bureau report used by the current import workflow. Its paid membership is separate from your free DIY Credit account.

Do I enter my SmartCredit password here?+

No. DIY Credit does not ask for or store your SmartCredit password. You save your report page as an HTML file and upload that file inside your DIY Credit workspace.

Does DIY Credit submit disputes for me?+

No. You select the items, approve the reasons, print and sign the letters, and mail them yourself. Nothing is sent without you.

How long can a bureau investigation take?+

The CFPB says credit reporting companies generally must investigate within 30 days, though some situations can take up to 45 days. Timing and outcomes vary.

Is DIY Credit legal or financial advice?+

No. DIY Credit provides educational self-help software. It is not a law firm or financial advisor, and it cannot guarantee deletions or changes to a credit score.

Your report. Your decision.
